Strange. I used to insure my Minor Traveller on a separate classic car policy, and my Minor twin-cam saloon with Adrian Flux (because it is fairly highly modified), but then the classic policy demanded you have a daily use car, so this year I put both cars on the Adrian Flux policy, for £150 fully comp, agreed value with mods declared.
Flux used to be good for me until they partnered with HIC, then quotes on standard cars went through the roof - modified cars were still good though.
I did get a call back from Flux- £170

for TPO with a limited 1500 mile limit
Well insurance is sorted now, got 2 decent quotes in the end, but not without some back and forth...
Online quote from Swinton - £208 TPFT (upto £287 with fees added), phoned my local Swinton branch - £400 TPFT

I complained a bit and got £210 cashback making it £190 TPFT including DOC cover!
Lancaster was £205 FC on the standard 318i. I requested a quote for fitting an iS engine - £220 FC
I'm not sure on having FC insurance on an E30 as it won't take much of a knock to write the car off.
That said, the touring will be getting 16valves in the near future so I went with Lancaster even though I have lost my DOC cover, as Swinton wanted £750 TPFT with the engine conversion!
