Hi,
i am going to be attempting a home respray and underseal in the coming weeks, i shall be making a diy spray booth outside with heavy duty plastic and a wooden frame. As it is outside im just wondering can you prime a car in red oxide to protect it before body prep?
thanks

I have been looking into various different products over the last few months and the one I like the most is the Eastwood Rubberized Rust Encapsulator.

For your purposes you would thin by 20% and probably do two thin coats. I will be stripping my floor and underside and be using this once it is all cleaned up.
Let us know what you decide and how you get on.

I've found in the past that red oxide tends to react with cellulose, this is just a personal experience, i'm by no means any kind of paint expert.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
hi ,
i sanded down a wing which has been filled and resprayed before, because the red oxide was thick stuff it filles most of the imperfections , 3 small dents to fill, but ill post pics tommorow!
Also its a good rust preventative! i think im going with waterbased as cellulose gives off poisonous gases
