whats the preffered choice on plugs ??

Bosch W8LCR @ £5 odd each

NGK ZGR5A @ £11 FOR 6

or theres these bosch at £15 for the 6 ?

or the BPR6ES @ £15 for the 6 (which ive heard as lot on here, would they be the best ?

then theres a few densos going up to £60 odd !

why on some websites does it list BPR6ES for 318 etc but not m20 325i and gives the others instead ? are they preffered due to being the best or because they are cheaper ?

Earlier M20 B25 engines used the ZGR5A, and then I believe the switch was made to BPR6ES.

allways used to ask for an old plug when supplying new ones to see if the plug was suited to the engine , most performance engines use this method. to get the correct burn

Where's the conflict? Both are recommending the BPR6ES.

There's no helping some people.

My understanding is Bosch were the supplier to BMW when these cars were new. NGK ZGR5A were available as replacements. The later M20 still came with Bosch plugs and the NGK BPR6ES were available as replacements.

ETA:

My Autodata software lists NGK BPR6ES (OE = Bosch W7DCR) for all M20B25 engines regardless of build date With ONE exception:

Engine Code 25 6K 1/A tuned for R-Cat (1986 - 1993) Bosch W8LCR as OE. NGK = ZGR5A

So engines produced between '86 and '93, but only those with cats, are recommended to run the ZGR5A plugs. However I think it is well known enough that the BPR6ES will run on any standard M20B25

I've realised my earlier post said earlier engines used the ZGR5A. I got this the wrong way round, so use BPR6ES. Autodata confirms this.

Some people experience issues with Bosch plugs, in terms of misfires and durability. Personally, I believe NGK are the best plug manufactures.
