Just curious as to the value on the neon editions if clean and tidy with average miles?
i know most hate these kinda questions and i know its not an exact science but would appricaite peoples opinions, not just on value but of neons in general

rare, but not such a nice colour
Value depends on a lot more than just lack of rust, seats fall apart and material is nigh on impossible to find. I'd say a tidy one with below average miles and good history like mine with a good interior would fetch between £2k and £3k mint ones probably a lot more.

I may have just purchased a neon blue 91 for £800 needs a new rear window and some very minor rust on the rear arches which will be easy to sort.
interiour is in good nick with the exception of the drivers bolster, would it be a massive crime to put black leather in it??
just trying to work out if its worth my time and money to make it mint or just have a bit of fun in it this summer, i would estimate needs no more than £1000 to make it very presentable.

£800 even if you need to fit a decent used roof and do a few minor repairs to the bodywork sounds good. Not a massive crime to put leather in it, black will go well with the door and rear quarter trims if you want to keep them. You be surprised how many holes you can make in a neon seat if you have a good poke around.
If you get it and change the interior I'd be interested in a front seat base should either prove to be any good.

i love neon blue, always wanted one and almost contacted you stew72 when you had your's up.the interior is marmite but i like it although black leather would be a nicer option .to be honest for me its should have been a six pot to to keep it up in the value stakes as most arent daily driver's anymore and a weekend toy needs a bit of grunt imo.sure they will hold value over every normal 4-pot cab if kept well.
ive been watching the market daily on the usual sites(its my secret gay hobby)and have seen a fair few neons for 800 to 1250 needing work so i wouldnt say it was the bargain of the century pac1982,just my 2p though if you like it,what you waiting for

My aim when buying cars is to not loose any money when i move them on hopefully this one wont break the trend

Been wanting another E30 for ages since getting rid of my IS but at the time i needed my car daily and when it started going wrong i got rid, i really don't need a private car anymore its purely just for fun, and if i take a liking to this one it may be getting lots of TLC and possibly the 24v conversion I've always wanted.
Fingers crossed its a gooden i'll get some pics up when i collect it, i've purchased blind but hey whats £800

true its not a bank breaker and hopefully its better than described then you'll be in for a treat.24v conversion go for it best of both worlds then especially with black leather.
im the same when it comes to buying cars, i have to make sure i atleast get my money back to get the next car in.
will keep an eye for some pics dude

The leather option on the neon cars was bison, which I have never seen, but believe to be a pale biege type colour. This would have come with matching cards,of course.

I would keep it original as possible if you want to make a few quid after tidying it up. Try and get the bolster repaired if possible.
New screen and rust tidied up, can't see you loosing out tbh.

Do plan on keeping it original, it currently has a tech 2 front bumper & spoiler fitted which will be coming off, and if i do change the seats i will keep the old onesImysE30 wrote:I would keep it original as possible if you want to make a few quid after tidying it up. Rear spoiler needs to come off too
I think it's just a Tech 2 lower valance add on. Would have probably had a standard wheel fitted but check the options list
