Hi all,
I'm looking to get my 325i serviced. Does anybody know of any bmw independent specialists that they would recommend in the Nottingham/Derby area? Initially wanted to service it myself, but I have every service stamp so want to continue with a full service history!

Many thanks
Rob

Hughes Bros Derby, they do loads of E30's for people and have a good reputation
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Looking for an independent specialist really due to the price of a BMW dealer, also had problems with dealers in the past. I have much more faith in old boys! aha

Just to let people know, I've found a BMW specialist and its only 5 mins from my house. It's called BMW and prestige vehicles, its run my an old boy who's a former BMW dealership technician. Got it booked in for 11th July for service, cambelt (thought I might as well as there's no stamping to say its been done before) and some fluid changes.
If anyone is interested he's based in Stanley Common, 10mins from derby. If anyone wants his number pm me

They'll be wanting £100+ for an Oil service  which amounts to changing the oil and filter and "checking" a load of other stuff like lights, wipers etc which you can easily do yourself

They will probably also tell you that your brake fluid needs changing ( another £100+ ) and your coolant also needs doing ( yet another £100+

Dealer servicing is all well and good if you're not paying for it yourself and running a turd thats less than 10 Years old

He hasn't I'm afraid, he's a real old boy so I think the internet is too much for him! aha

My e30 went for a service at BMW and Prestige Cars this week, I had a look through my service history and it didn't have any record of the coolant, brake fluid (which looked very dark brown anyways), the cambelt or auxiliary belts being done so I booked it in for the lot.

So had oil service, diagnostic, coolant, brake fluid, cambelt + tensioner, fan, p/s belt changed and it cost me £380 which I didn't think was too bad.

Sounds quite reasonable that. I've got another E30 coming so might give him a call, can you PM me his number please.

Cheers :)
