good news. my switch is fine and kicks in at 91. used a laser thermo reader. bad news my temp gauge miss reads big time. i was no where near getting up to temp. Good news the engine is not prone to over heating with the slight bonnet lift and e28 rad.

Well its well in the red at 91... thrmostat housing reads correct 93ish when the fan kicked in. tried a different sender which gave the same result. next thing is to try another temp guage. Failing that I will go back to the manual switch and kick it in every time it see's the half way mark.
