c/l problems continue after red/black wire mod

my c/l has been down for a while so i thought i'd give the red/black wire treatment a go.when i get to the wires in the wiki i'm told to cut x2 red/black wires but only really have one as the other one looks more red/brown than red/black ? anyway i cut them and joined them together at the main plug and still no joy

i have x3 c/l relay's here and all are working...they all clicked when plugged in but after the mod and trying them all again they don't click when plugged in but only when i press the BMW option alarm fob .i've put the wires back to how they were and tried again but only clicking from relay when i turn door lock or press alarm fob but not when first plugged in..one relay has started to buzz now
