That's the lower half of an E34 Alpina spoiler lashed onto an M3 front bumper.
ie, not a genuine article.
If i'm not mistaken, that car in the picture has a B10 Bi turbo engine and various E34 dash parts nailed onto and E30 dash.
Yes that's the one with the E34 Bi-turbo fitted 360bhp standard I believe and correct about the bumper.

better off leaving it all in the car it came in originally imo.
That bumper is off a V8 alpina of some sorts as it has the brake ducts. Looks all a bit of a lash up with the e36 wheels.

The B6S will just crucify an M3. They sound epic and handle nicely but are a bit overgeared. Until you've driven one you can't really say you'd rather have the S14. Let's face it, a modern 320d will give an E30 M3 a fright these days.

When it was white, it was an M3 with a standard 535i engine. Fast enough for what it was but missing 40-50 bhp.Rav335uk wrote:It has an Alpina B6 engine in from what I heard.

It would be interesting to try one fitted with a tuned Rover V8 for sake of comparison - lightweight all-alloy V8 versus cast iron boat anchor, but with the same 3.5-litre capacity.

The Rover V8 is best left in the BL chariot it left the factory in.

True, but purely for sake of comparison to see how it went and handled in the B6, compared to the M30B35.
Of course, one would have to fit the fabled Vitesse twin-phlegm version, allegedly good for 210-220bhp, about the same as the standard M30B35...

But you asked to see a "Modified Rover V8", and against a modifeid M30, no where near.Speedtouch wrote:It would be interesting to try one fitted with a tuned Rover V8 for sake of comparison - lightweight all-alloy V8 versus cast iron boat anchor, but with the same 3.5-litre capacity.

The m30 is simply an epic monster of an engine and those that think a poxy hair dryer of a s14 is anywhere close need to wake up and smell the coffee

C'mon guys you cannot compare an S14 to an M30 they are both great engines, but designed for different use. You wouldn't run a marathon in walking boots! Exactly, they both do the job they were designed to well, and both have a huge following! But not by me.
