I think most cars are prone to getting the sump bashed these days with the amount of speed humps on the roads. There was a BMW Sump gaurd on ebay not long ago.

I have one on my car...must be more common on SA built ones....
But this car seams to ground more than my old car, which was lowererd, this has standard suspension. I'm going to lowerer it to see if that helps..

It's also worth remembering that the BMW sumpguard is different for pre and post facelift cars.
I would say that a sumpguard is essential for anyone fitting an M50/S50 as the sump hangs down lower on these conversions.
Ian.

My brother has this problem in a big way, hes on his his 3rd sump in 6 months, apparently bmw still sell the guards for the sump new, think there around theԚ£100 mark. Can anyone recommend somewhere that sells custom made springs for the e30? as im really struggling to find an off the shelf spring that looks good aswell as performing, any help appreciated thanks.

i think demon tweeks can make custom springs but you need to provide them with a length and spring rate AFAIK which isnt something thats easily worked out. H&R Cup Kit is the best value kit around that i know of, if he's not happy with that then uprate antiroll bars and poly bushes and if he's still not happy then get a set of Leda coilovers or similar.

weve been looking into a coilover kit but both hnR and gaz have said the fronts are not available.Konis were a big compromise really, so are the front coilover available , as this would be prefered, any info would be great,
