amaze balls.
The regular B6 is pretty special but these are the next notch.
Heavy M30? the B6s used regular e30 m3 springs for an air con'd spec car.

Maybe but the B6's like all Alpina's were put together well unlike the Hartge Lash ups.....Kos wrote:SteSE wrote:Very cool car, arguably the best E30 model.

A very cool car.
Well built with a pedigree background.
As above, not some lash up without any paperwork to back it up, unless it's been printed at home on the laptop

Same, I feel part of the appeal of an m3 is a light, free revving engine you have to ring to get power out ofharry_p wrote:Rather have a sportevo tbh.

Alpina knew what they were doing back in the day,
they removed the Achilles heel of the E30 M3 (the spastic 4 pot S14) and fitted a proper engine.. a B6s is, and always will be a far better car than an M3 due to the awesome M30 donk

Hahaha bollox. The s14 is arguably one of the best engines made. Makes the m3 what it is!e30topless wrote:Alpina knew what they were doing back in the day,

yes on a race track, but comparing them as road cars. Which we are, the B6s will just disappear. Much easier car to live with on a day to day drive. No thrashing needed to make swift progress.
Whats as S14 manage at a million revs? 160lbs? the M30's pushing 220 plus?

260 in the B6S.
I'm sure contemporary road tests claimed the B6S was less prone to understeer than the M3 despite the heavier engine.

Crap colour, I'd have to reduce my offer to just the one testicle and my first born.

Come off it, how many people use their m3s of any description on a day to day basis?Simon13 wrote:yes on a race track, but comparing them as road cars. Which we are, the B6s will just disappear. Much easier car to live with on a day to day drive. No thrashing needed to make swift progress.

The fun of the m3 is that it has to be thrashed to get the best from it, a completely different character to any other e30.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. But if I wanted a properly quick e30 m3 I'd start with a standard car and bung an s50b32, which in day to day driving would probably disappear from a b6s
cheers,

That's the lower half of an E34 Alpina spoiler lashed onto an M3 front bumper.Fastroad wrote:The best Alpina bumper on an E30
ie, not a genuine article.
If i'm not mistaken, that car in the picture has a B10 Bi turbo engine and various E34 dash parts nailed onto and E30 dash.
