So, a very sad story. No idea how the accident happened, but end result saw me cut out of the car due to the Armco raii
Ing had intruded into the driver,s side door ripping the recaro seat off its base, but luckily for me staying in one piece absorbing most of the impact.
Tow truck operator who attended the scene said my lower torso was lucky not to be turned into scrambled egg by the impact (which he has seen with most modern cars fitted with side intrusion airbags matched against a Armco railing coming thru the driver,s side door)! Hear is to Recaro, well done on design!
New car will have to be sought and all classic bits moved a crossed, including the 327i and gearbox which are superb photos to follow, but join me in saying a fond farewell after 15 years of ownership that have given me nothing but pleasure and pride in German Engineering.
Regards, Steve

Indeed a sad story for the car. The fact that you are still here to tell the tale means so much more.
When put in perspective these things are just lumps of metal. Replaceable.
Glad you are ok.

Best wishes to the old lad. Luckily he was not in a rusty Pommy turd, it would have snapped in half with a hit like that !

That's a heavy hit, hope everyone involved is now better or on the road to recovery.
Now guessing by the pictures I know what's to blame, it's them aftermarket multi-hole shoes that horse was wearing (couldn't help myself)
