Replacement sterring wheel horn not working?

OK...old wheel off, new wheel on...only problem is horn now not working.

The old tech 2 had two wires brown (presumably earth) and black. New steering boss only has one wire (black) so have connected this to + terminal (i.e same as tech 2 connection) and nothing. Have tried the other terminal too.

I did initally tighten new steering wheel/boss which made the horn go off constantly so slackened off slightly which made it stop, if that has any bearing on anything.

It sounds like you've connected it directly to the earth somehow. Disconnect the cable and tighten steering wheel nut again, if it still goes off still then there may be a compatibilty issue . If you have a continuity checker then ensure the horns aren't stuck on in any way.
'88 325i M20, could've done with a sunroof.
