obc light dim FAO BRIAN !!

obc seems to be working, but its dim , id already put a new bmw bulb in the back, google suggests its the 2 soldered on bulbs on the light bar 6V 272-1140 , sold by radioshack in the us, but out of stock , is that the case what i need ?

anyone know anywhere else to get the bulbs from or if any others


BRIAN - rav mentions you know the maplin part numbers for the right leds and resistors to use ? any chance you can post them please, i can go to maplins tomorrow to get them

ive read that- but its normal bulbs, not the led and resistors !!!

when brian replies, it would be useful to add the led conversion and maplin parts to the article !

I do not, and never have, recommended LEDs, for the reasons that they are too directional and won't dim properly when the parking lights are turned on.
The correct FIVE volt bulbs are available from CPC-Farnell (Free postage on any order the last time I looked), and have a life that should equate to several 100,000 of miles.

ok no worries, rav mentioned it, ive gone with the normal bulbs anyway, went to mapin 9am this morning they said they dont sell them, then drove 15 miles to rs components who said they did- and didnt, so they are delivering them in the morning i hope, although im not banking on it next day for a few little bulbs

cant wait to see the obc in all its glory
