Following the wiki I've removed the linkage peice under the car and mine seems too be miles longer than the one pictures on the wiki pages
Can anyone help?

Do you mean the long rusty rod that links the bottom of the shifter to the gearbox selector shaft?
If so, they're all specific to the gearbox/engine combinations, so don't worry if yours looks longer. It's because the M40 engine and box is shorter than the M20 version pictured in the Wiki, so the shifter rod has to be longer to compensate.
What you WON'T need to do is bend that rod. Your car won't have the big rubber balancing wheel on the prop which interferes with the short shift, so don't go hammering the shifter rod like the Wiki tells you to.

The " big rubber balancing wheel" should be removed and thrown away if it interferes with anything. It's a relic of earlier designs of guibo.Grrrmachine wrote:Your car won't have the big rubber balancing wheel on the prop which interferes with the short shift
