Is it cheaper than you can get elsewhere locally?

If yes, it's a good deal.

If no, it's not a good deal.

Not a particularly challenging concept to grasp :?

30% off what?
Does that make the same brands cheaper at Halfords than elsewhere?

Maintaining three cars myself,I buy engine oil in 25 litre drums from a local blender!

It wasn't a heads up, it was a question asking if 30% off usual rrp is a good deal.

I'm sorry Polsta but since you messaged me asking me to do your clutch cylinders on a staff sale this week, and then asked me to post them to you (which by the way was very, very tempting. After all I don't really need my job anyway...)

I can no longer take these moronic questions and rants you post. Sometimes they make me laugh, but most of the time they make me want to smash my own face repeatedly into my computer screen.

May be a few stupid questions to some, you don't have to read it if it bothers you I suggest you get out more, we can't all work with cars or be 100% familiar with how everything in an e30 goes that's not in the wiki or online ...

Is 30% off a good deal... hardly a question only a mechanic can answer is it.

And we do all have to read this dribble because its all over the forum now.

OK....

Let's say that Halfords sell Mobil at £30 a can.
So 30% off means they sell for 'only' £20 a can.

Meantime,Fred Bloggs Car Parts are always selling Mobil oil at £19 a can....

LOL I remeber when Polsta had a 6 page post just about stripes, ones he had already bought but was looking for opinions whether to fit them or not.

Polsta makes me laugh but i guarantee he will have one of the best e30s in the UK after he's completed his.

In light of this, I would suggest that the measly 30% discount that Polsta is questioning is NOT a good deal.

I buy my oil from Asda, mainly for my frequent oil changes on the Astra, but for the E30 too.

Its £12 for 4 ltr can of Castrol GTX, I'm not sure if thats a great deal or not, but its just right for me.

Heres a link, deliverys cheap too..

I see Halfords charge £24.99 for the same product, 4lts of Castrol GTX, which at 30% off is £17.50, so Asda is offering a good deal in comparison, especialy without the Halfords deal.

How cheap?
What viscosity?
Country of origin of Oil?
Date Oil was Containerised?
Colour of Container.
Is it suitable for Carl's motor?
Can you deliver?
Do you do Credit?
What will Carl's next question be?

Same with a lot of things in Halfords when you have a trade card. For example, I got bosch wipers, on the shelf at £20.99, I paid £11, Halford own brake fluid, shelf price £12, paid £4, Halfords 5ltr anti freeze, retail £21.99, paid £12
