My car is a 1985 Baur convertible, so presumable a 'coupe' as far as the floorpan and corresponding mats go? I have seen mats that look like they would fit, but advertised as 'saloon (assuming that's 4 door) or Touring models only'. Seller has no clue so it's clearly a case of Caveat Emptor. Can you guys shed any light on this please? Thanks, Chris.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. Car's had over 40 hours of welding (ouch!), but I think was worth saving. At the spray shop now so now that i've spent the 'boring' money I can now get the fun bits. Pics posted once back in my sticky paws!

Saloon/touring floor mats differ from cabbie mats by virtue of the width of the floor. But the difference is only an inch or so,so buying cabbie specific mats will not look out of place.

I cannot remember if Baur's have a stiffening plate along the inside of the cill, but if yours has such a plate, then the cabbie type mats will be a better bet.

The only thing Baur changed was the roof-part. No further stiffening needed.

The white parts are from the BMW-factory, the Baur-parts are welded on to the car.
