Hi guys - my front windows are taking forever to close. What can I do? Also my full closure has recently stopped working.
What can you guys suggest?
Thanks in advance.

Three systems fitted to E30 doors. Pre facelift, post facelit, and dealer fit. Which do you have?
Does your closure work one window at a time or all together? How many windows? Aftermarket or OE option?

Hello again Mr Moore - the car is an 87 cab...tech II kit with pre-facelift rear. All the four windows go up together when you hit the button however...they've stopped working and now you have to put the windows up one-by-one

If it was working all four windows together, then I'm surprised it's lasted this long. The supply circuitry for E30 windows is only designed to work one a a time.
I take it this 'closure' module is some aftermarket thing, and since I don't know how it's wired in, I can't offer exact advice on this problem.
My plan of attack would be to take off one door/ rear card and find the motor plug and socket, disconnect it, then apply power direct from a battery to that motor to confirm it's working properly, reconnect the plug and socket, then measure the voltage at the motor when it's working. Next, measure the voltage at the switch for that window, when it's working, so as to compare it with the reading at the motor.

Hi just to confirm all the window motors are working however, the fronts are very slow and for some reason the windows don't go up with the Sigma button...

'87 could be either the early type windows with the S shaped cable mechanism, or the later scissor type. The early type can have problems anyway, with hardened grease causing problems in the cables. As I've said above, power one up directly from the battery, then reconnect and compare voltages at the motor plug and switch.
Anyone on here know how this 'sigma' is wired in?

Great thanks Brian - I changed one of the rear motors before and I think it was the scissor type mechanism. What would you recommend me doing to the front motors? Perhaps grease up the mechanisms so they go up and down smoothly? Do you think there is a closure module somewhere in the car? If so where is it most likely to be? Thanks again.
