Good Morning guys.

Last night i drove the car home from work. and the car was being verry laggy and bogging down in all gears inbetween 2000 and 3000 revs.
The car has also been kangrooing a bit which i have read is a verry common problem and can be caused by anything and everything.
its doing this at all temperatures, so both hot and cold running.
it also seems to hunt a bit at idle. :?

The engine is a M40B18, the blue temp sender is brand new and tested to be working fine. the wires and plug for it look perfect and intact.

tonight after work im going to go home and hunt for air leaks. i have also read about the track in the AFM being worn so i will have a look at this too just to rule it out and rig up a test for it. Then i shall test the TPS propperly once i have read how to do so.

sooooooo.... any advice please.

what else should i be checking?
Any one had these symptoms before?
How did you solve them?
Hny advice on propperly checking the TPS?
How do i check the FPR without swapping for a new one?

many thanks in advance

What you describe tends to be ignition system related on a M40. Check out the condition of the distributor cap rotor arm and spark plugs.

My M42 has a similar issue, but its doesn't have a Dizzy.cap or Rotor Arm. I'll replace the Sparks plugs first.
