Booked a week off work the begining of next month to attack the welding on my project car, which consists off both front footwells the bottoms of the front arches behind the headlamps.

Can anyone tell me what the thickness of the floor pan steel is?

I used 1.5mm as it was the floor as it was recommended to me by someone who did it. I have seen peeps use thinner though.

you wont go wrong with 1mm,its easy to get from stockists being a common size, expect to pay around £25 for a 8x4 sheet,if they cut the sheet into a smaller size its more expensive.

I would use either 1mm or 1.2mm for most body related repairs.

For nearly every repair I've made on every shell I've worked on; the thickness of an E34 bonnet.

I always use 18gauge, which is 1.2mm.

I'd imagine that's pretty thick?

Never measured it, but it seems about the same as what I'm repairing in most cases.

anything of approx 1mm is going to be good enough to get it through an MOT if you want a cheap fix, and should still be easy enough to bend/fabricate to the shape you need. If you want perfection then easiest thing to do would be to get measuring :D
