How to tell the difference between a genuine pair and replicas?
Am I right in saying replicas have 19spokes and genuine pieces have 20?

A topic that has probably been covered several times before but helpful none the less!

Yeah your right 19 spokes on reps

Depends which reps; my OZ Alpina reps have 20 spokes. The common BK reps have 19, and the RG reps have 20 or 16 depending (both are listed in the Wiki.)

So how do I know if wheels with 20 spoke are gen alpina or RG.OZ's?

It'll state it on the centre of the wheel.
Also, the latest Alpina wheels are made by Borbet.

These are the older style for the e30s. I think the rears are wider than the fronts. Where on the wheel would the stamp be? Seller has told me that he has the locking keys etc and they are original but would like to check that myself.

Also, what would an original set cost? need of a slight refurb? and when fully refurbed? Never used to like them but thats changed"!

Check on the rear of one of the twenty or so spokes.

Alpina wheels WILL have Alpina somewhere on the wheel.
