Morning All,
Took my throttle body off on Saturday for boring out (BBTB) and whilst at it, took my injectors out (for replacing with refurb'd M20 injectors). Anyway, I noticed that the breather pipe from the rocker cover to the TB was starting to split, so I'm looking for a replacement. There's a part number on the pipe - 1708.802.2, which ties up with the realoem catalogue: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=11&fg=15 part 3, but the diagram doesn't look like it at all. Mine has 3 right angle bends in it.
Also, whilst in writing, where's the best place to buy rocker cover and TB gaskets? I'm also thinking it's worth replacing the blue and brown temperature sensors whilst I have easy access - GSF or dealers?

Don't worry about realoem diagrams - they're generic pictures and not accurate depictions of the part in question. If you're not sure, put the part number into Google Images and see if the right pipe shows up.
As for your injectors, you don't mention which engine. Are you aware that 320i and 325i injectors are different, and incompatible?

Rocker cover gasket From CarParts4less I got a victor reinz one recently for much less than the dealer.
Inlet gaskets GSF had them recently but when I called up they were out of stock. Ended up getting them from the dealers. There about twice as much. You need 4 of the single gaskets and 1 of the bigger ones.

There is absolutely no point in replacing the blue and brown temp. sensors unless they are faulty. They are not service items.

Unless your Temp.Gauge is faulty, the Brown sensor doesn't need replacing, as Brian says, theres no point replacing them.

Thanks for the advice folks. I ended up buying the gaskets from the dealer as they weren't as pricey as I had expected and I had to get the breather pipe from there anyway. As for the temperature sensors, I thought these were a common failure point, but they're a bugger to replace unless you take other stuff out of the way first as I remember. I guess you're right though - if it aint broke, dont fix it!

The blue temp. sensor is a common item to fail, but it's not a time or mileage related failure. A brand new one is just as likely to fail as your old one. In fact, statistically, a brand new one will be more likely to fail in it's first few weeks or months of operation.

Wise words Brian - according to the typical "bath-tub curve" of component failures, you're right. Saved me a job there!
