You normally fit new 6mm and 8mm plastic coated copper pipe when fitting a second hand LPG kit. Make sure you cut the ends off of the old tube with the threaded ends that screw into your various LPG bits.
Refitting: look up COP11 on line, and it's amendments to make sure you fit it up to current safety standards. If the valve on the tank is an old one, it may not have an electric valve on its outlet, so should be renewed.

Ive used the flexi/poly pipe on my latest install.
Ive been told that for an engine with more than 4 cylinders 8mm front to rear pipe should be used
Depending on how old it is you might want to rebuild the regulator with new diaphragms/seals/gaskets

6mm - 8mm changeover point is reckoned to be around 200 bhp, so any standard E30 engine should be OK with the smaller stuff. Always been OK with my fleet, including the M50/52 engined stuff.
My E39 2.8 towing barge only has 6mm, and that is fine even under hard acceleration in lower gears when towing, however, when switched to the 'auxillary tank', which involves a further seven meters of pipe, it does suffer a pressure drop under those conditions, and switches back to petrol until the box has changed up a couple of gears.

Ok it's all removed I didn't realise there was so much!
It's an OMVL Millenuim with pit agora emulators.
When I refit it all I think I will use the smaller filler I can mount alongside the petrol cap.
Where is best to buy these parts along with the copper/poly pipe.

You can ditch the emulators when you reinstall! 100% not needed on any E30 engine - just disconnecting the single power feed to the injectors is all that's required. An E30 ECU doesn't monitor whether they are connected, working, or anything else.
Millennium software is readily available for free, and there are circuit diagrams around for the laptop lead and interface, but ideally you need a laptop with a real serial port. A Dell Latitude D600 is ideal for the job - I'm actually loading diagnostic software onto one right now, as I type this.
Typing LPG into ebay will lead you to a few online suppliers of pipe and other bits.
