Hi! I've got a completely standard 316i touring 1993 (still e30 shape though) its in pretty good shape considering ! The thing is though the shocks are knackered so its gone all chattery if that makes sense.... can anyone recommend a decent suspension upgrade baring in mind i would like the car to sit 60mm lower? I've searched the forum and didn't really have any luck although i did find that if your not going to use the car on the track (it's my daily driver) then there's no need for coilovers. Also on a bit of a budget so price is pretty important too! thanks ! Oh yeah i'm pretty sure the strut diameter is 51mm !

Welcome to the zone!
Standard answer to this one - it's been gone through may times.
First of all, lowering by 60mm will mess up the suspension geometry and result in an ill handling, uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous car. The maximum, before things start to go significantly awry is about 40mm, and this will be well catered for by a combination of Eibach or H&R springs and Bilstein B4 dampers.
You will need front springs to match the weight of your four cylinder engine, and rear springs for either a touring or a cabriolet. I have a feeling that one of the spring manufacturers that I've mentioned doesn't supply cab/touring springs, so you may be limited to just the other one.
None of this is 'budget' stuff, but the cheaper stuff will be a big mistake. Do it properly, and do it once.
