My brake pad light is on constantly, but the pads have good life left in them.

Before I go buy sensors to replace them with, is there a way to bypass them, by shorting the connector? So I can prove to myself what one needs replacing, or if infact, the issue isn't with the sensors at all (they both look new).

Also, I've seen the 200ohms resistor fix, but the light on my dials is exactly that, a bulb on cable that sits into the warning light holder, the cables then run off behind the dash, not to the back of the dials. Normal?

disconnect the sensor and put a piece of wire between the 2 pins - this will turn off the light.

If this does not work, look for a potential short to earth on the sensor wire's run.

Then if you still have problems, there's a large resistor on the instrument cluster main circuit board mounted behind the temp. gauge, this may have developed a dry joint.
