A freind of mine has been looking at buying a second hand 300C CRD. Not my cup of tea, but they appear to be big, comfy and well spec'd.
Having never been in one has anyone owned one of these massive american turds?
I have been trying to talk him out of it but they do seem a lot of car for little money.

The Mrs had a Chrysler PT cruiser a few years back - in terms of comfort it was great and the spec wasnt bad but as a piece of engineering it was woeful - engine was thirsty, thrashy and slow, totally inaccessable access to anything in the engine bay, turning circle of an oil tanker and the ride quality was shocking.
I'd imagine a 300c CRD to be a similarly built sensor laden piece of crap that no one can fix - does your friend like the gangsta look ?

Never owned one myself but work with a chap who has one they are well spec'd the diesels are Mercedes sprinter engine which can be chip tuned, basic suspension at the rear but Ideal for caravaning! he does all his own servicing one down side is they don't have pad wear sensors and the G unit grill

Rob your right about the gangsta look, Apparantly its pretty much an e class underneath but most American stuff is terribly built.
He had a shot of a SRT-8 one but the fuel bill was going got be potentially enormous.
I've been telling him to get a 5 series but as yet my persuasion is not working.
