braided hoses

You will need the 6 hose kit, generally they're about £85 for a goodridge set, there are cheaper sets but I wouldn't recommend them.
Do a google search, lots of places selling them at the moment

I am converting my chromie over to braided. I saw some cheaper alternatives on the good old flea bay. I wasn't sure what they were like so didn't bother. My mate ordered some for his subaru and they are rubbish. Stick with Goodrich mate

The Goodridge are tried and tested by many, ive also seen the cheaper hoses on the bay for about £60 but at the end of the day id rather pay a bit more for something you need to have faith in!
I recently did some work on a car that had aftermarket/unbranded braided flexi hoses and the threaded hole for the brake nut was too deep, with the anti rattle spring fitted the nut was only just about touching down onto the flared end of the hardline, I had to remake the flared ends to get them to seal properly

Make sure you get the ones with the stainless fittings not the zinc plated ones ( stainless ones are slightly more expensive but last forever )

Plus the Goodridge ones IIRC come with a lifetime warranty so its one less "easy fail" for the tester at MOT time.

320i saloon without ABS will have drum rear brakes,so will require the 4 line kit.

SIX LINE KIT. ABS has no relevance whatsoever to which kit you need - it's about time Goodridge worked this out and changed their adverts accordingly!
If you have drum rear brakes you need a four line kit. If you have rear discs, you need six.

When ABS was spec'd,rear disc brakes were also fitted,so the point about ABS matters!Brianmoooore wrote:SIX LINE KIT. ABS has no relevance whatsoever to which kit you need - it's about time Goodridge worked this out and changed their adverts accordingly!

But there are plenty of E30s with rear discs and no ABS. There are only three models that can have rear drums! ABS has no relevance to which kit you need.daimlerman wrote:When ABS was spec'd,rear disc brakes were also fitted,so the point about ABS matters!Brianmoooore wrote:SIX LINE KIT. it's a rubbish way of differentiating kits.Chris_B86 wrote:Well it does, you could have a 316i with ABS so comes with discs, but if it wasn't specced with ABS, it would have drums
as said, there are lots and lots of e30s out there without abs which still need a 6-line kit.
it would be a million times easier if goodridge just listed them as rear disk or rear drum kits.
that way people without abs and drums get a 4 line kit, and people without abs and with rear disks get a 6 line kit, and people with abs (which automatically gets rear disks ) get a 6 line kit
cheers,
