hello all this is now doing my head in. she starts first time everytime but once its running and driving i will put accelerator down and car will lose all power till it cuts out. will start straight back up but same again put peddle down then cut out with backfires.. leave car for an hour or so and will drive perfect! problem will disapear for a week then will come back .iam hopeless with cars so have not a clue any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like a loose connection at the AFM to me.

All connections seem to be in place the car will run ok for a few weeks but then problem will come back?

Check the idle control valve moves freely, this gums up and causes the car to overfuel like mad.
