the cab was mot'd this morning and for the first time since I owned it passed it MOT first time with no advisory's. :)

But got a question regarding the emissions results.

the info I have is CO2 0.6% and HC 275ppm.

Am I correct in thinking this suggests lean running as I believe CO2 should be 1%.

I spent a lot of time recently servicing the car, testing the ignition system and chasing air leaks so not sure if I am looking at a tampered with AFM. All this work has been done in the last 500 miles with either parts from BMW or OEM equivalents.

1. Injectors ultra sonically cleaned
2. New inlet manifold and Throttle body gaskets
3. New Rubber bung on underside of TB replaced
4. new Breather pipe between the TB and rocker cover replaced
5. New Spring, washers and orings replaced on manifold to block pipe.
6. All nuts, washers replaced when rebuilding the inlet side.
7. All other vacum pipes have been throughly inspected for splits or deterioration and have no problems.
8. All jubilee clips checked and replaced where necessary.
9. New oil filler cap.
10. New air filter, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, plugs.
11. TPS tested and confirmed with Mr moore is operating correctly
12. Engine temp sensor (blue) replaced as was faulty, now reading correctly as per the wiki at the ECU and sensor.
13. Dizzy and rotor inspected and are in good condition.
14. waterpump, timing belt, tensioner, thermostat and coolant change in last 500 miles.
15. New rocker cover gasket and D shaped bungs.

First of all, I think you mean CO, not CO2. Two very different gasses, both present in a cars exhaust gasses.
I wouldn't worry about those figures if everything's running well and it picks up cleanly without hesitation.

At least the last few years. Certainly since I have had the cab. I would imagine since the government brought in the emissions based road tax brackets.

They've been emission testing cars for as long as I can remember, I'd expect certainly since 1992 when catalysts became standard fit on new cars and probably since before that.

Since exleast 1992 as long as I've known for petrol cars.
