Best way to tackle ivy is to cut it at the root and the whole thing dies. Not easy if its on your neighbors side though.Rav335uk wrote:I'm trying to get rid of the climbing ivy from next door!

Rav, that's not too bad, I would n't worry too much at all. Weld in patches, tidy up welds, coat in loads and loads of hammerite both sides, put back together and it will last years. Happy days.

IT's getting there slowly!!
Today, I ripped out the front panel, wings and inspected for rust around the chassis rails, and inner wings.
I found a few more holes, typical places, so not really that shocked.
WIll order a new front panel for it, and need another goo NSF wing, as it's too far done down by the sill area.

Front panel all off.
I thonk it'll stay of until I get the M30 into the bay, easier than having to lower it from the top.

And M10 ready to come out tomorrow.

Whats that red thing parked in front?
Also, had a little nosey yesterday at the chromie shells and I might be able to salvage a good driver front footwell, you'd need someone with some welder skillz though, same goes for the bulkhead gash, I should have a good one of them to patch in too. But wont be for a while

@Goosie,
Will take pics of the colour code for you
@ Jim,
No, i meant the one behind the battery tray.
The one round the transmission tunnel has to come out.
@ Jim,
I need that rear panel as agreed Jim, and some others, but will phone you with a list.
And.......
Eagle eyes there lad
One we worked on, stright 6, just been rebuilt, bodywork all sorted and got it to the owner 2 weeks ago after he spent a small fortune.
He went out on day 3 of having it back , and some tit in a van arse ended him.
Repair bill for the following:-
New rear bumper
new rear panel
new S/S exhaust,
Jig out chassis
kink in roof by B pillar
Shut lines all over the place on driverside,
Labour only £12000
Parts £7000
Total £19000 to repair.
Insurance assesor was out last week, waiting for his answer

Good work.....I've been far too lazy on mine. Got all the bits, just need to get started.
I have a spare drivers side wing.......not immaculate but it may be ok for you once you prep it up.

I just noticed you're doing exactly the same swap as I did...
(316 carb/automatic - and even Alpin Weiss)
Good luck with the build; and chime in if you have any questions!
