Overly light steering?

Need technical Q/A then you're in the right place

So I drove the E30 for the first time at the weekend since October, and after replacing a lot of bits. Joyous occasions and I couldn't wait.

However, excitement was dampened when I got in and the steering felt stupidly light and not that responsive. Now I haven't driven it for a while and it could just be that I've forgotten what it's like, but I can't imagine my E36 being heavier.

I haven't touched the rack, but this is what I've changed over the winter...

Control arms
Inner and outer ball joints
Track rod ends
Anti roll bar and bushes
Lollipop bushes
Suspension
Top Mounts

It just feels weird, like there's no feel through the wheel and the wheel just turns too easily

Pressure too high in the front tyres, probably not this but a cheap easy fix if it is :)

I doubt it to rell you the truth. It's so light it feels like when then car is in the air with the wheels off the floor, almost no resistance

I'm surprised it's something so simple. Good to know that's what it's likely to be though, easy fix. Cheers

Get it done soon, you'll be amazed how fast your tyres will scrub if the geometry is out.

remember youve changed your suspension setup somewhat. The rear is lower than the front? so its taken weight off the wheels. Although if the lads think its the tracking get it checked out, theyr probably right
