A temped to pit all the bits back after the respray put all the sill/strips around the doors, boot and horse shoe wing mirrors and assembled the rear bumper.....taking it all off was so much easier and quick now I have to be careful making sure everything goes back properly and I don't scratch the paint.

success, another years MOT and only failed on front drop links, which i soon changed. Most impressed in the old girl, considering the other halfs Corsa cost nearly £400 to get through the MOT

Put the finishing touches to this

Image

It just needs some gear box mounts and prop bearing/guibo and it will finally be ready to drop in.

At least with the engine out the bearing, guibo and mounts is an easy job. With the engine in and lying under the car with a couple of inches of room is another matter.

This afternoon I have been mostly fitting new rear top mounts.
Now I've just unpacked a lock rebuild kit only to find the instructions are in the tongue of Die Fatherland. Time to look at the Wiki and send out for a fresh bag of expletives, cos this looks mighty fiddly...

The biggest pain I'm facing at the moment is getting the damn box attached to the engine. I think the clutch has to be re-centred.

Get some white paint and write "Hoosier" round the sidewalls of your rears. Then you can just tell people it's a dragster! :)

Had my car fully valeted yday with the leather looking fresh. Altho i had it retrimmed a year ago. And i noticed the passenger seat has always sat on the piss. And as my cars pretty much complete im looking at all the small bits. So i unbolted the seat, tool the rear seat cover off. And noticed the bolt thay gets attached to the bottom half. The bracked has been broken. So i welded it up. Put it back together.

And now the seat sit straight.

Happy boy

Changed the camshaft sprocket, oil spray bar and did the valve clearances on Saturday. Finally got rid of the death rattle.

And yeah, that thing up ^ looks clean as fuck.

Felt guilty as I did some rust treatment on the E46 in full view of the E30's hanging tailgate.

Changed my oil to 5/40, checked the oil sump bolts, by dropping the lower sump pan, put the correct wear sensor on the Front Brake Pads:-

thought i would give mine a liquid dip in matte blue,as didn't know what colour to have itsprayed so this was the option as the original colour is still under the blue which can just peel off if wanted back to original.

still a few bits to do like peel paint from handle etc bit of a marmite car you'll either love it or hate it

Dropped the car of at a lovely garage for some Engine loving. Need a snapped manifold stud addressed, so whilst the head is off going to get some de-cokeing done, valves reseated, head checked and all the other little bits and bobs that need doing to a head.

Managed to drop the drain on the battery from 65 mAmps to 30 by removing the dash and "insulating" a couple of wires! (The lights for the headlight adjuster). while at it fixed previous owners dodgy speaker wiring! now the rear right speaker works (been cutting in and out for 7 years but could never find time to fix it!)
