This seems a silly question, but im swapping a M52 auto engine into my manual e30. I have a e30 325i spigot bearing to fit.
Question is, does anything need removing - there doesnt appear to be a bearing currently fitted?
Does my new spigot bearing just push in, there appears to be a shouler which it should logically rest against, just seems odd not removing anything??
Thanks
Matt

No nothing needs to be removed. It just locates the manual gearbox input shaft, and stops vibrations and rattles.
Auto box does not have one, or anything for that matter.
Tap it in square with a suitable socket on the outer race, NOT the inner.

You removed what was in the hole when you removed the torque converter. It has a nipple that locates in the hole to centre it.
If you look up the 325 spigot bearing in the ETK, you will see that it lists a few other parts besides the bearing. All these extra bits are now obsolete with the bearing currently supplied.
