Can alloy wheels be refurbed back into original condition once they have been welded.recentley I picked up some alpinas and was told the front wheel had been welded,it's a set of 5 so I thought I would use the spare anyway and could may be find a single one in the future .

Thanks, just wondering if you could get it back to mint condition or would it be impossible to get perfectly round as the welded section seems to dip a little so not perfectly round.

So if welded properly it's as good as new.

Genuine Alpina wheels? The 17 inch reps are well known to split when they get flat spots

welding and aluminium aren't a good mix as you lose what little hardness and strength you had by essentially annealing it and the likelihood of cracking goes up if they do a poor job. despite all that it is very common and never heard of a problem. the wheels they just aren't stressed much unless you have very low profile tires and start smashing into pot holes. i wouldn't worry at all

So it's likely being genuine alpina staggerd 20 odd years old that you'd find it hard to come across a set without ever being repaird.thanks for the replys
