The top power steering hose weeps as soon as you turn right; I can see the fluid seeping out between the bottom of the hose fitting and the top of the pump. I've tried copper crush washers on there but I'm just not getting a proper seal, and I don't want to overtighten it because I've snapped one banjo bolt already.
Is there anything else I can use to help seal it, like a liquid gasket or PTFE tape?

Washers should be aluminium, not copper. I suspect copper is too hard to deform enough to seal.
There's also a type of crush washer available that I've come across on high pressure hydraulic systems, which has a neoprene rubber seal built into its inner edge.

The aluminium washers were original spec the copper ones were released in 1995. Both still available take your pick.Brianmoooore wrote:Washers should be aluminium, not copper. I suspect copper is too hard to deform enough to seal.

These are the dowty washers

Very good design IMO, tighten down to the steel and the rubber has sorted the sealing part.
I supply these as part of my custom pipe kits, pm me if you want some sending out mr Grrrrrrrr

Don't trouble yourself Dan, I'm sure I can grab a couple somewhere
I'm buggered if I know what they're called in Polish though...
