Anyone used a head lamp restoration kit ? Like the £19.99 meguiars one ?
Just wonderd what is in the kit if its worth buying and has proper stuff and a few bits or if its just a few standard items you can buy cheaper ?
Lamps are a bit milky and weathered and want to get them like new
And also - is it possible to remove the glass from pre face lamps to get at and clean the insides and silver reflective bit ? I had a little go but they didn't look like they wanted to budge

The glass lens will come off with heat applied all round but its a risky job. If you fail you can get replacement lamp inserts.

Probably expensive tho ? How much heat ? Heat gun heat ? I've got some spares, also have some facelift spares , is the actual glass/fit the same although the rest of the lights are different ?
Was re painting one and the lenses actually fell out of one and had some slight surface rust around the join area, and the reflector was very grubby and cleaned up great, what would best be used to re glue them ?

I've had the metal casings blasted and powder coated , rubbed down and re painted the backs of the lamps , just got to do the glass and fittings and they be good as new hopefully

You could buy a new shiny set and use them for shows only.

Isn't the Meguiars kit just for plastics lenses? I'd check what kit you're looking at because I've only seen them with Plast-rx paste, not sure if that will touch glass.
I've used Cerium Oxide paste before on a rotary pad to the outside face of a smiley and that worked a treat. You can buy the powder cheaply enough and mix with water.

I did not think pre facelift lights could be converted from LHD to RHD, i know its a simple task for facelift jobbies.
