Hello,
So I am just about to start of stage 2 of the rebuild. The rear end!
As it stands I am going to be replacing, the beam, trailing arms, shocks, springs, brakes, diff, fuel tank. And I feel as everything is off, I may as well do the brake and fuel lines as well, but I don't know of anyone who has done it.
Honestly out of 10 how much of a pig is it? and how long does it take? is there anything I should look out for or should plan on replacing?

Without the fuel tank and rear beam in the way?
Piece of cake! 3/10 maybe?
Just don't bother trying to save anything. New hoses, new unions, new clips. Means you can just snip the old pipes away. I think the only thing I saved when I did mine was the T piece mounted to the rear floor.
That's for brake lines by the way, I've never done fuel lines.

The biggest problem will be unscrewing the clips under the cabin floor which hold the brake and fuel pipes to the underbody. If the bolts do shear, then they can be replaced by self tappers through the floor of a sensible length (E30 carpet is quite thick!), or M4 nuts and bolts, if you lift the carpet up. Apply a spot of seam sealer to each bolt/screw hole in the floor.
Apart from that, fuel lines are as easy as the brake lines, although the only 'fuel line' that usually rusts is the tank vent pipe, which can be left off entirely, reverting back to the arrangement used on pre facelift cars.

Ok great I can handle 3/10. And do you think Cunifer lines are the way to go?

Brian, behave !! self tapping screws are for B&Q Diy types !!
the stainless screws which hold the brake line/fuel pipes to the underside through a small bracket can be a real pain to remove.. care must be taken when removing they do snap/round off easily
fuel lines can still be bought from the dealers for around £30 and the front to back brake pipe is around £10 it's definitely worthwhile doing while you have the tank and beam off the car
