Is there such thing as a decent set of lowering springs under £100
Fancy a 35 mm Drop for the touring.
What benefits do you get over expensive springs over cheap ones.
What Brands are decent entry level springs ???

In a word, no. Depends what you want from them though. If you're just going for looks over performance then probably be fine. Apex seem to be a popular choice for budget

Might invest in some Apex springs then, only thing i am worried about is the touring specific ones are for both 4 pot and 6 pot cars
All other models of apex springs are either 4 pot or 6 pot specific

i thought convertible and touring springs were the same with the 51mm struts, so would be different to 2/4 door saloon.Alex wrote:Might invest in some Apex springs then, only thing i am worried about is the touring specific ones are for both 4 pot and 6 pot cars![]()

and then also each engine size the spring flexes differently for the weight of the engine i.e 1.8 springs will flex, be designed fir the 1.8 engine.
so you want 6 pot touring/convertible springs, you could try emailing/calling the supplier to confirm.

oh ok, thought it was 6 pot.Alex wrote:I need 4 pot touring springs
if you can afford the bit extra i would try the spax.
actually, i just thought ive got m40 1.8 convertible springs 40mm drop 6 months old, but it may be a few weeks before i can get them off the car.
depending on how much of a rush youre in you could have them for 40 the set.
If its for a 325i I will be removing some red jamex lowering springs that were brand new by previous owner ,and have done around 2k miles , drive is ok they are just too low for my liking , il be removing and selling them cheap within the next couple of weeks

thanks do you know if they are compatible with a convertible? I know the strut size is different, but are the springs different? What did they come off?polsta wrote:Check out my thread in photo section the early pages youl see the stance, I don't know the drop tbh google them, Jamex springs e30 , I've got the reciept still and they are red and nice condition, il see how much they were/cost now and give you a price , at a guess £40/50matt86 wrote:polsta ill have those please i need to get rid of my m40 ones and fit some m20 ones. Should fine. AFAIK all springs are interchangeable regardless of strut size, as long as they're going on a 6 pot should be ok, lowering effect would be reduced if going on a 4 pot due to lower weight
