Having finally re-assembled the engin on the cab, the metal pipe that connects the ICV and TB is working itself loose as is the two that connect to the two pipe vacum pipes that go off to the brake servo and intake boot.

What's the best method to keep these little buggers tight in the TB?

Well when I had an issue with one of the pipes working loose from the TB leading to the brake servo, believe it or not I used superglue and it's still holding after 3 or 4 years now. I know it's an unorthodox method but I let it dry overnight and it hasn't caused any trouble for me since.
I put an even amount all around the lip of the pipe ends which meets the TB, pressed it into place and then kept pressure on it for about a minute before leaving overnight. There are no air leaks and I can still probably break the seal again if necessary.

PTFE tape any good? My mate used it on his GTO boost pipes.

I glued mine too and they're still holding firm.

Two part epoxy glue is the tried and trusted solution.

I'm currently trialing a polyurothene sealant,it glued together an engine mount on the Fix It Again Today, and is also in use on my boat's bottom....

As well as various air pipe connections on the cabbie!
