Sport seats

As most of you know I bought a vert from the zone ( there is a gem behind that car ) last night I'm trying to sort a few niggles on it.
1 driver seat won't go up its stuck at the lowest setting making me a runt and drive awkward .
2 steering whines when turning at full lock I'm sort of thinking to get rack changed .
Is there anybody out there who knows how to dissect these seats ?
I'm looking for any cheap or old seat to replace my driver seat till I can get this fixed , any help appreciated and I'm going to compensate of course .
The idea is to use the car over summer whilst collecting bits for the conversion to be done in the winter .

Not forgetting the beaded seat cover too, that adds about 1inch height.

I had the same problem with the drivers seat. i removed it from the car and stripped the mechanism and found that one of the parts (it lifts the seat mechanics on both lower parts when you use the handle) was snapped. The replacement cost under £5.00 from the dealers and was easy to fit.

Take the seat out (4 bolts) and examine the mechanisms on both sides where the top of the seat joints the base, as i bet your sufferieng the same problem.

thanks i will check this makes me drive and sit really funny . the stuff that you mean is it the hydraulic shocks at the side of the seats ? i have decided to do a resto on my seats and not buy so i am currently fixing these , the repair kit got in yesterday so yep looking forward to the job .
any chance of pic of the part i need to focus on ?
