Has anyone ever had mud flaps on their E30.. Just trying to thing of ways to keep the stone chips and rust away. If so, does anyone know of anywhere that sell some which are quite discrete ?

euro car parts do cheap car specific items, which give the best fit.

I have heard they can trap mud, water, salt basically rust traps. Im just about to have mine taken off as I think they will drag on the ground once its lowered. I would offer them to you for a couple of beer tokens but I know at least one is broken

I only have mudflaps on one side of my e30.. I keep meaning to take them off as they are rust traps as this eBay seller found out:

Mudflaps don't create rust.... just look at that car on ebay, it's a shed. One family owner! at least we know how to blame for the damage.

It's rusting along the door / sill edges, I'm sure the mudflaps weren't to blame for that!

My car has mudflaps, and not a sign of rust...

The mudflaps will trap a lot of crud, and retain moisture, hence causing rust, when I had mudflaps on my 316i I liked them and made the car tidy, but they need to be kept clean, or the above will happen!

OK, perhaps i should have said, as long as you care for your car, and rinse out the crap behind the mudflaps they wont cause the car to rust...

e30mark, any idea where i can get more u-clips for the rear mudflaps? How are yours held on? Mine have a bolt at the bottom inner corner and then 2 u-clips that attach onto the wheel well. I need more u clips. Any idea where i can get more. Also, i do not think mudflaps cause rust, I have put them on all of my cars and trucks and they have protected the car from being showered with salt. But yes, you need to keep the area clean.

the dealers will sell you the clips for 23p although it should be a bracket with a bolt thrrough.

If you want some mud flaps I have some for sale but dont know how much they are worth. They are genuine BMW ones though
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

The fronts are held on by U clips, the backs use clamps that are available from the dealer. Part number 72.60.8103.010 you need 4 off.

I brought this up a few months ago and got slammed for even thinking about it, but I have my own opinion and they are going on (as soon as my box is unbroken)
I think they look good ,but like most things, keep them clean!
