Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked and answered or if it's obvious! I just wondered if any of the rear suspension componenets on the touring are shared with the coupe/4 door?

I'm guessing the front components are the same?

Thanks

Springs are touring specific, all other parts are the same as 2/4 door saloon.

Worth mentioning that touring and cabbie share disc rear brakes with the 325i saloons, lesser versions have drum rear brakes.

Front suspension is more dependant on engine rather than body style, with the bigger engines having bigger struts and stiffer springs to carry the extra weight. Tourings and cabriolets also have the bigger struts.

Everything on a touring, except the obvious and the roof lining, is the same as 325 saloons, apart from a suspension difference on 325 tourings. These share the alloy front control arms with the M3, but most have long since been replaced with steel ones.

Touring rear brake calipers are slightly different to saloon ones IIRC

Correct, but fine to use in pairs. I've come across one car that was fitted with one of each, and it didn't cause any noticeable imbalance in the braking.
