A nice dark red interior would look cool.

Just looking at dyes...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Leather-Colou ... 3453wt_986

Might try this stuff out, medium brown? I think it would look pretty cool with black carpet, black door cards and black everything else

Aren't you going to b e devaluing the interior though for when the inevitable happens?

Brown or red would look good though!

Aslong as the last mot was a dodgy one then it should be alright for a few more years, although I've not checked anything over... It'll still look cool though :D
Going brown too, red is a bit too much and every gay in the village has it on here, plus its only comforts so brown would suit them better :D

You mean wasn't?
Was a pukka MOT, hence the failure and still having the balljoint advisory! Good job you're currently well practised with wishbones

Personally I'd just clean the interior rather than change the colour, save those pennies for running costs!

:( New one was well easy as wel, I could have throw it from the top of the drive and it would have landed in place :D

Although, the handbrake shoe pin popped out on the test drive  Slightly battered pad on the new shoe and the pin was a bit mangled, bit of blutac and twigs, everything was sorted. :D

And the running costs, I dont go anywhere to warrent it costing me much :(

I will have to remove the carpet though to dry it out and dye it! That will be interesting to see what lies beneath :D

I've got the carpet from the chromie that can go back in as thats already blacked up and dry... Although I'd like to see why the current carpet has a current running through it :

Matt, i'm free all weekend, its suppose to be raining from tonight onwards :(

Also might get the 'move' done before I start stripping the car too much.

:D Bear with me pickle...

But be warned, its good  And the bodgery to fix it involves seam sealer as weld

Im currently just about to get the carpet back in, well, different carpet in black. I say I have given the car a few more years of life though after cleaning out the rust.

Definately come and get it... Im moving again soon with any luck and I dont fancy moving house with it again :)

Now... Time for a rusty treat!

I started off by passing a bit of time and was going to level the sunroof as its sits low on one side. Opened it up and there was water and rust sitting in the tracks, cleaned it all out and checked the drains, all worked fine. Think it was just a build up of water and a very rusty sunroof tray. Got another to switch it over to so will do that at some point.

So after I finished doing that I thought I would try and have a quick nosey under the carpet driver side as its soaking. :D

Removed the wet carpet

Image

To find... :D

Image

Image

Which seems and looks like it has some slight surface rust :)

Image

Image

Driver side seems pretty bad, one spot inperticular, so with the idea of getting my Aldi Arch welder out and making it perfect, I chopped the bad bit out. The rest is mainly due to the water thats been sitting. Its been patched from outside :D

Image

Realised I only own a wire brush and my drill is with Matt still and I couldnt be arsed to wait for another battery to charge up for another drill so wire brush it a bit and used some kurust.

Image

Image

Now realised my welder isnt for normal plugs and that I have never used a welder so thought I would give it a miss... I did have some metal and seam sealer though

Fixed...

Image

Then some paint

Image

Image

Image

All hoovered out and dried... Need to seam sealer the underside, but ran out of the stuff.

Carpet went in. Nice and dry :D Although I doubt for very long

Still need to grab some more dye for the back section of carpet, the boot lining and the shelf blind thing.

Door cards need changing to black ones too which I have and will do at some point.

Have a replacement driver seat and need to get the dye kit I linked and get the interior done. Should look nice :D

I'd say it was now on par with x-works M3 with todays quality repair.

Polsta's & Matt's Sports only wish they had this time and effort on them! winkeye

Oh and I dont think the cream carpet had ever been removed in its whole life  no cuts, perfectly fitted. Must have just been lifted on the edges when the welding was done

It has MOT so making the most of it. :D Finding the secret rust doesnt change the fact that it drives, its mot, taxed and insured, so may aswell use it until its dead :D

Its been repaired to the highest of standards now so should last a little while longer...

Passenger side bulk head! Grot around the loom bush, used a Hoover to get the loose off and the relay bracket fell off. If you look at the picture of the interior fitted you can see its dropped down  need to tuck it back in.

There was a hole, I seam sealers it up! :D water tight now.

Kedge, I might do that dude, just so the underside is water tightish, would be a shame for all my hard work to be a waste of time!

Might switch the sunroof tray and get the door cards switched tomorrow if the weather is ok.

Its been on my list of things to do, but seeing as you and Matt both said it use to drip inside, I was expecting it to be rotten as hell, but it wasnt

New tray should sort it out. I checked all the drain holes and they are working fine, air compressor on them and then water down them and it ran out where it should. I did get covered in rust as I openned it though, then it wouldnt close after
