I took a day off work today because ECP sent the wrong roll bar bushes so the E21 is patiently waiting with no wheels on and the front end in the air and as i had holidays left I thought feck it.
Iv been spending the morning doing up my 15" bbs a bitty. They were reasonably nice nick paint wise, just covered in baked on oil, dirt and usual shite found on old wheels.
These will be used on the E21 for a while but were bought with intention for usage on the E30 for track or winter times. Il be painting the centres either Marrakesh or doing the whole thing white.
However, while theyr on the E21 which is lapisblue i want something that will suit it for now. I was thinking perhaps silver lip with dark grey/gunmetal centres??
Does anybody have any photos of theirs they can share for inspiration.
Thanks

I hate blue. Navy is my least favourite colour, its hard enough to get past the car itself being that colour id rather not match the centres.
I toyed with the idea of the bottle tops having light gold centres but not these i dont think

Would look wrong IMO. Gold goes 'ok' with white/red/black cars, but I've yet to see it work well with blue/silver cars.FinalD wrote:Jewish racing gold (maybe even Subaru gold) centers...would be interesting...probably not very nice mind.

Your E21 polished up wellverde wrote:pic failed earlier
Polished lip with gold or silver centres will work well with your blue.
Polished lip wont take long either, do it by hand, doesnt need to be mirror finish, just so it highlights its a slightly different colour

Straight gold ! Polished lip isn't suited for a daily 1st car and by all accounts a ball ache to maintain

Euan,
if your putting these on the E21, you'll need 5mm spacers up front, they do catch the track rods on these cars.
I have a set on my E21.
And Go for straight Silver.

Alright man thanks. Yeah theyr going on the E21 as all the tyres are legal and will do til I can afford new ones and a set of schmidt th line reps for it. As for the engine swap im looking at 1300 quid for bits roughly so fuck it...il make do. The e30 is a 6 pot and thats enough for now. I really like the nogaro centre though...Kedge wrote:Everything Rav said!!Rav335uk wrote:Euan,

Nogaro centers do look ace, best alternative to silver as they still remain fairly neutral and so work with most colour cars. Problem you have is deciding what to do with the rims, polished rims are a nightmare on a daily as they need constant attention, you could have them lacquer but then if that chips and water gets in they quickly look awful (I'm going to have this problem on my OZs as they wheel refurbers wouldn't leave the rims bare for some stupid reason) or you could just paint the rims Polaris, still has the contrasting colour just without the gleam of them being polished but it's much more durable.

yeah thats a shout. I have 2 sets of my wheels to paint, my borbets to polish, my mates 18" BBS LMs to polish and a ates bbs to refurb so i think il just paint my rims polaris and save myself some time to put on the other projects
