The cars a 1990 318i lux only covered 86,000 miles and hasn't really been drove far the last couple of years. I realised it would miss at 5000 revs and sometimes over 5,500 miles, so I gave it a service using oil plugs and filters off the wiki page, as she needed a service anyways but am still felling her miss. It's pulling through the gears brilliant untill she hits them revs.. Any ideas ??

If the engine sound can be described as "sounding like a skeleton wanking in a dustbin" then your cam is very likely worn.

I read that and started too worrie but engines quite no ticking at all, she sounds good like.. Any way of checking the cam without removing it from the engine ? Would it be a costly job too put a new cam in ?
Thanks Adam

As the wiki states, you just need to remove the cam cover not the engine to check the cam itself

Would it be a bad idea too keep driving the car until I get it fixed ? She's not ticking or anything :s
