replace the rear cover with an e30 8 bolt item and install e30 drive flanges. The e28 flanges pop out with a pair of tyre levers.

Do the e30 flanges come out the same way

yes, they are held in with an internal ring clip. Worth replacing any leaking seals and a solid diff mount as well while your at it.
