Just a quick one guys..
Out of three e30s I've never had to replace a wheel bearing, but now is the time.. Noise, excessive vibration, grease oozing from cap...
Now, are e30 bearings adjustable?
Or is it the simple case of replacing with a fresh one?
Kind regards.

It's a simple case if it's a front bearing. Not quite so simple if it's a rear.
Check the condition of the brake backplate before you start. Bearing needs to come off to replace it, so now would be the time if it's rusty.

you can generally knock it off the axel with a lump hammer, but may need a slide hammer or some very carefull grinder action if the inner race sticks the the stub axel, and a suitable large socket to tap the new bearing home only putting pressure on the inner races.

If it's front, I used a hub puller, one came off in one piece, the other, the inner race stayed on the stub, but it came off easily with one of those 3 claw gear puller things

Further investigation reveals it was not, the wheel bearing.. But the top strut bearing.
Thanks for the advice guys.
Still one question remains, what moron packed the hub with copper slip.
