First off, thanks in advance for any advise on an issue I'm having.

I bought a full mtechnic 1 set from your side of the world. I'm a regular poster on r3v. So, I know enough to just not get myself into trouble I guess!

Well, aside from the issues I'm having with the seller shipping to me, I spoke to someone more well versed in mtech1 kits, and was told that I may have bought a set with some replica parts. The front valance has not had the holes where the fog lights pass through the front valance. This is what I was told may be questionable. I was told if it was 100% authentic, when being used on a car without foglights, the fog blank blocking plates would be used, not a valance without the holes.

The depressions for the fogs is there, but they are not cut out...

I'm under the impression that t is in fact real, but I know you guys will have a better eye for it, being as it's not nearly as common here.

Here is a picture, and any advise is very much appreciated!

if its genuine it will all be stamped/marked and a proper kit would have the fogs cut out or blanking plates inserted that pop out

Yeah, I'm not really interested in it just looking "not cheap nasty anyway", I want a 100% legit setup. The honest fact is I bought the whole damn thing off of an eBay auction just because I needed the front valance. I've got three sets of European spec bumpers, and the rear cover, and side skirts already. It was sold as 100% authentic...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E30-325-MTE ... true&rt=nc

But now I'm thinking it's not. The seller has been nothing but a pain to keep in contact with, and I understand the time difference, but it's been over 2 weeks, and he said he would ship it in 3 days after payment. I made payment the same day.

I've got the pics from the eBay ad, and three pictures similar to the one I posted above. One is a bunch of stuff wrapped in plastic packing wrap and tape. I'm actually even concerned about it being damaged beyond use in transit. With him so hard to contact, he won't even send pics I request.

What do you guys think? And, thanks so much for the replies thus far!

Looks genuine to me as well. The foglight blanking plants are only for the metal valance that is behind the Teah-1 front valance.

As willnz said, not all holes are always cut out. What was cut out on the Tech-1 valance would depend on what the car was spec'd with from new. If the first owner didn't pay extra for foglights they wouldn't have cut the holes out of the valance.

Yeah, from my experience, I would assume it is genuine because of the fact that it isn't a whole unit (including trim and backing bumper) But there is the variable between even experienced owners of e30's.

I've seen them without the centers cut (Non-A/C, non- oil cooler) but I've never seen them without the fog lights cut out.

I guess I just have to trust the seller, and hope he eventually ships it to me.

Another question, if the sale said he would ship in 3 days of payment, and it's been over two weeks, I have plenty of reason to be concerned, right?

I understand I'm on the other side of the world, and we over here might deal with issues like this differently, so, Is there any advise or suggestions you all have that might be useful for me to get a proper resolution of this whole issue? I've tried being nice, extending the courtesy of giving this guy the benefit of the doubt, and in my humble opinion, I've done all that I can.

I didn't want to leave bad feedback, nor start a dispute/claim via PayPal, because I'm trying to be a nice guy.

Thanks for giving me a place to rant, and hopefully all ends up working out in the best interests of both parties involved.

Crikey you over paid there!

So he definitely hasn't sent it? No need to be polite about it, get a dispute going with PayPal now, get your money back and buy off a trusted seller on here for a lot cheaper.

I actually need this setup ASAP. Is there anyone selling a real/better condition setup that anyone could recommend, and/or link me to?

I'm going to cancel transaction and I'm figuring I should be ready to buy STAT.

I've just sent a tech 1 front valance to Puerto Rico using Transglobalexpress. I'd be asking the seller to show some pics of the inside as it may be a fibreglass copy, can't see anyone copying a valance in PU as they're readily available in the used market over here.

If you're making a mould for copies, it'd be cheaper and easier to avoid the fog light holes.

He certainly emptied your wallet for that lot, I only paid £150 for a kit 2 years ago, so jumping to over £700 is mental.
Shill bidding?

As for if it is genuine I am going to sit on the fence, Full Tech 1 sports all had fog lights BUT as we all know the kit was just a tick in a box away.
There may be some kits out there without the fog lights but I think it has to be rare.

Something like that usually reaches Barbados in 7-10 working days , so it shouldnt take much longer than that to reach you in the US.
That kit looks familiar , i'm quite certain i saw those pics before in another listing. I will check my emails and see if i still have the pics which were sent to me by the seller.

Edit : That timeframe all depends on when he actually ships it. if he hasnt started the process yet its not looking too good.

He never shipped, nor replied. Looks like from his transaction feedback that he ripped everyone that bought e30 stuff off. Myself, and four other buyers. I'm thinking he must have never had the parts to begin with... Still waiting for my refund via eBay.

I would open a dispute and claw back what funds you could.

The fog lights could have been covered up, front fogs where standard equipment on sports.

Also the centre is slightly different.

Well, PayPal/eBay Buyer Protection covered me, and I opened the claim on April 14th, and they refunded me today. I'm talking to a few people, and trying to get one or two full kits. Thanks all for all your help and advise!

It appears the sellers feedback is in freefall as well.

Well done on the refund.

^Thanks! Yeah, I noticed he was getting some bad feedback, so I knew I was in the right for pulling the plug, I only wish things would have worked out, and the drama would not have happened, I'm just thankful it worked out in my favor. If anyone else sees those images in a FS ad, I'd warn them to be weary.

Thanks again all!
