The Tach on my 1987 pre-face lift 6cyl 320i is behaving very erractically. Have had the cluster out and replaced the old batteries with appropriate new units, thought this would sort the problem out, but it is still all over the place... Either the Tach is toast or there maybe another solution. Any help and suggestions warmly appreciated.

Many thanks Grrr .... that is actually quite useful, all the other instruments are working fine, so a bad signal may well be the problem.
