Hi I'm gona m50 turbo my e30. Got the m20 out and am in the process of getting all the bay ready for paint. Before I paint just wanted to ask whats the clearance like for dp past steering column?what side of the Column will the dp go (between column and block or column and chassis leg)untill I get motor in cant really tell but don't want to put motor in till all painted.
My main question is if dp runs between column and chasssis, while engines out and before bay is painted should I notch the chassis leg to allow for bigger dp?has anyone done this?

Where the downpipe goes depends on what your turbo manifold looks like.
