For anyone using this method to stop the the pump pulley turning, it's important that you use a longer bolt than the original, or you will very likely partially strip the threads in the pulley flange and ruin the original bolt.

I think that's what happened to me actually  a couple of the bolts were threaded. I only noticed when refitting everything. I thought I just hadn't lined up the holes on the pulley with the flange on the water pump well enough.. causing them to thread.

Fixed the driver's seat tilt mechanism, lubricated the boot lock so it returns on it's own now and added more new things to the "To Do" list than I ticked off..

Had a faulty pulley replaced (£59.00), suspension arm replaced (£98.00), mounting bush changed (£19.00) and full service with engine flush (£88.00) plus labour over two whole days (£105.00)....the look on my face when she quietly pulled away, priceless. :D

Not to my E30 - but what was left of the M52 donor car finally met its demise and got towed off into the horizon.

Waxed it and put linseed oil on the bumpers, almost looking factory fresh now, the convertible still needs a bit of paint, front, shocks, lowering springs, one wheel repairing and road tax

Had enough of the wonky back on (un)compfort seats. Pulled the front seats out and stuck my sports seats in from my old IS. Although it looks a touch odd some tartan front seats in a grey interior of a touring, it feels great sat in and driving. Can't wait to get some black leather sports in there...

325i auto to manual conversion... 8)

2 issues caught us out
1/ when removing the auto box, forgot to remove the 10mm bolt holding the ATF dipstick bracket on the bell housing, so struggled for ages to slide the slush box out...grrr
2/ a blocked slave cylinder outlet so faffed around to bleed the clutch hydraulics

btw the 1990 shell had no bracket to attach the slave hose to the body...

Removed it and its now on a charge. Hoping it will be salvageable and can be refitted later...

Well, the battery is fully charged and has been refitted so the E30 is back on the road. The only mishap was I dropped and lost the bolt for the battery clamp when refitting it! :( Looking at the parts website its a M6 25mm bolt so that will mean a trip to the shops today as I doubt the main dealer keeps them in stock.
